Man walks up to another, pours thinner on him, and sets him on FIRE.

This is the man, a 70-year-old, who attacked the Yio Chu Kang MP Seng Han Thong. The former taxi driver was a common face in the Institute Of Mental Health and was often seen by his neighbours as an eccentric character who would run up and down the corridor of his block without any apparent reason.

According to witnesses, Mr. Ong Kah Chua was furious that he wasn't he given any hongbao. Mr Seng ran onto the stage of the Yio Chu Kang CC, where he was attending an event where tried in vain to put on the flames on the back of his head. The chairman of the constituency's Chu Sheng Temple, Mr Aw Chui Seng, rushed up to help him beat out the flames but ended up burnt.

This is not the first time Mr. Seng was attacked; in July 2006, he was assaulted by man who believed that the Member of Parliament wasn't helping him enough to get him back his revoked taxi license.

To me, this is quite worrying because if a man can just come up to a Member of Parliament and set him ablaze, what about the citizens? Where is the sense of safety that we are supposed to have?
